Last month we brought attention to all the talented hands that make our club run. This month we will focus on an opportunity where we need participation from all of our members – our reverse raffle/live and silent auction. The event is March 4, only one month away. The committee has been busy organizing and getting donations. Within the next two weeks, it is important that we crank up the ticket sales and gather donations. Here are ways you can help:
1 – BUY and SELL TICKETS. It is very important we get this going now because we need to give the caterer numbers. Please invite friends and associates outside our club, too. Give them an opportunity to donate to our community while having a chance to win $5,000. Remember you do not need to be present to win. But it helps to be present to bid on the live and silent auctions
2 – Let us know what you or your workplace will be donating. We need anything from gift cards and gift baskets to sporting tickets and vacation destinations. Nothing is too big or too small.
3 – Help with check-out the night of the event.
4 – Set-up and clean-up
Thank you in advance for your help. If everyone pitches in, this will be a killer event raising lots of funds for our community. And with Rick and Vic as MCs it is going to be fun, too.

In the meantime, next week is our annual Shower the People event. Not only will it be good food, fun and music, but it also is a chance to donate to a favorite group or charity in the name of a loved one. If you haven’t chosen a charity yet, may I suggest the Rotary Foundation. Doing so would move us further on our way to meeting our goal of 100% participation this year. Perhaps consider giving the $26.50 that was used to start the RI Foundation 100 years ago.
