Welcome to our Club!

Dear Fellow Rotarians:
I know we are all optimistic that the COVID-19 vaccine will usher out the “new normal” and bring back the “good ole normal” we lost last March. Let's hope the vaccine helps us protect ourselves and our families.
Take a moment to reflect, as our club has surpassed its goal of fifty 125 Club members, that Rotary has helped distribute a vaccine to eliminate (almost entirely) a different yet awful disease from this planet…Polio. Rotary International, and OUR CLUB is still doing its part to ensure no one else must suffer Polio’s debilitating wrath.
A question to ponder as we near the completion of that mission is what great world challenge will Rotary International embrace?
No matter the answer, here are two related questions:
(1) How can we advance Rotary, and all of its benefits to mankind, right here in Lancaster?
(2) What should our club’s mission be for the final half of this Rotary year?
One answer to both questions may seem unlikely during a pandemic: growing our ranks. Hear me out. First, Rotary membership has always brought us all a great sense of accomplishment. I personally am so thankful to Randall Ullom, who introduced me to Rotary back in February, 2010. Rotary provides an outlet to truly, and seemingly effortlessly, make a difference in our community. Wouldn’t others benefit from that?
Second, our club has always done great things. We continued to do great things in 2020 despite the pandemic. We have all witnessed personally how, with our large membership, if even a fraction engages in a particular project, we still make a huge impact, both locally and globally.
A Call to Action: Let’s make it our mission to each invite one new person to attend a Rotary club meeting or project in the first quarter of 2021. If you do so, please email me so I can welcome your guest. I have something special planned for all who participate. Let’s share Rotary with others and multiply the good we can do as a club.
Rotary Opens Opportunities!
Stay safe,
